Amendments to waste management rules

Inaugurating the “FICCI Environment Conclave 2008, Ms. Meena Gupta, Secretary of Environment Ministry, said “the government is engaged in revisiting the waste management regulations to look at suitable amendments. The amendments would be a
nnounced soon. ”
She said urban local bodies and the private sector needed to explore projects that could become eligible for Clean Development Mechanism(CDM), according to a release issue here.

Morgan
Stanley is ramping up its onshore private wealth management business in the
country. The move comes at a
time when UBS, the world?s largest wealth manager which has just received
its banking licence, is also looking at setting up its private banking business
in India. Asia, particularly
India and China, are the new frontiers where wealth managers are on a hiring
spree. Private banking refers to elite banking, where banks advise clients on a
more personal basis than the mass retail banking.
